The route
We collect from your UK address and bring the load down to Kent — the M1, M6, M40 or M25 onto the M20 — then Dover for the ferry to Calais, or Folkestone for the Eurotunnel shuttle. On the French side the autoroutes fan out fast: the A1 and A16 for Paris and the north, the A13 for Normandy, the A10 down the Atlantic side towards Bordeaux and the Dordogne, and the A6–A7 for Lyon, Provence and the Mediterranean.
Customs & paperwork after Brexit
A move to France now needs a customs declaration and a full inventory. If you are transferring your main residence, used household goods you have owned for a while can usually come in under transfer-of-residence relief, provided the paperwork is right.
